Honoring our Angels Through Serving Others

This is what I've been working on for the first service project.

My daughter Devon will have her second birthday this November and I miss her terribly. I wanted to do something to honor her, her life and a way for all others that have lost a child or any loved one to honor their angel. The best way that I know to honor Devon is to serve someone else, to be the hands of God in someone else's life. I know that many people have been that for me through the pain of loss.

I got this idea from a book entitled "The Message". It's a true account written by and about the author who claims to gone to Heaven while in a coma, and then come back to tell about his experience in Heaven when he comes out of his coma. At the end of the book he decided to do a service vacation with his family. He talked about his experience in Heaven and how the only thing that truly matters in this life is how we love and serve each other. This "message" really touched my heart. Heaven is where I believe my angel Devon is residing. I want to be a part of her Heaven and so I want to reach out and touch others lives for good. I made a card to give service in honor of Devon and all of our angels. Print off as many cards as you would like, perform acts of love, kindness, and service in honor of your angel. Pass this card on to the person/persons you are serving with your angel's name on it. You can serve anonymously or in person, what really matters is that you give with a heart full of love. Hopefully this will touch other's hearts and they will want to do the same. I hope that the love will spread and that my angel and yours will look down on us and be honored that they are the cause of so much love and kindness.

The cards are approximately 3x5 inches and on the sheet they are slightly bigger than a business card. If you would like a copy of the pdf (photoshop) file so you can add your angel's name to the card, send me an email and I'll try and email it to you.

I love the quote from Mother Teresa on this card. It says...
"It's not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters"

Feel free to either save the picture to your computer or you can download it here as a sheet or here as a single picture.

I will be adding a page to this blog where you can share either your experience with serving or receiving service in honor of an angel. I'd love to hear your stories. I'd love to see any pictures associated with your service.

Your angel will truly be honored by your acts of love in behalf of another.

It's a lovely quotation. It's not Mother Teresa.
